Victor Evans
Vice PresidentVictor Evans is a Vice President of Poplar Group and is the chief lead for the firm’s government relations practice.
Evans is an experienced government relations and campaign professional who has spent over 10 years building relationships with Tennessee lawmakers to influence some of the state’s most impactful legislation.
Most recently, Evans served as Executive Director of the Tennessee Campaign for Achievement Now (TennesseeCAN), where he successfully built and maintained a coalition of support throughout the state to implement quality education reform policies, including overhauling the state’s 30-year-old antiquated funding formula and expanding school choice.
During his time at the Republican National Committee and Tennessee Republican Party in 2014, Evans was pivotal in implementing the Party’s Victory 365 and Red to the Roots campaigns in Tennessee, through his work as the Engagement Director, to expand the Party’s base of voters.
Evans started his career as a Senate clerk at the Tennessee State Capitol and was a classroom teacher in both public charter and private schools. Evans holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rhodes College and a Master of Education from Christian Brothers University. Evans lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and two children.
